Did anyone else live in or around Chicago's South Side during 2009, around the time Rozene Burrage was killed? I wasn’t there, but I've been trying to wrap my head around the toll that gun violence has taken on communities like hers. It’s really disturbing to think about how families have been affected by this ongoing issue. I can’t help but wonder what it was like for the people who lived there, experiencing the fear and uncertainty firsthand. It seems like every few months there's another discussion about how to change things, but actual change feels so slow. I hope Rozene’s family is finding some way to heal. Has anyone seen stories or heard firsthand from communities that have managed to turn things around? What did they do differently?
