Hey everyone, I've been following the discussions here about Ricardo Jorge Barbosa's tragic passing, and I just can't stop thinking about the impact he'll leave on the students at the Newark Boys and Girls Club of the Ironbound. As someone who grew up in a challenging environment, I know how much it means to have someone like Ricardo invest their time and energy in kids who might not otherwise have such opportunities. Starting a chess club might seem small to some, but it’s those initiatives that really help shape young minds and offer them a feeling of belonging and self-worth. His work with at-risk youth clearly went beyond the badge, and I think it says a lot about his character and dedication. It’s a reminder of how crucial it is to have role models in our communities who genuinely care. The loss is undoubtedly devastating for his family and friends, and the echoes of his absence will be felt deeply among the children and families he worked with. Keeping everyone affected in my thoughts. ❤️
