On June 29, 2012, at approximately 7:50 p.m., 26-year-old William "Trey" Ross IV was fatally shot while driving his SUV near 10300 South Gessner Road in Houston, Texas. A male passenger in the vehicle also sustained gunshot wounds but survived. Witnesses reported that the suspect's vehicle was a red Chevrolet Impala with tinted windows.
