Does anyone else find the role of the Thompson submachine gun in these events intriguing? Its use in the Milaflores Massacre seemed to symbolize a turning point in the violence during this era. I read it was one of the first times the "Tommy gun" made a high-profile appearance in Detroit's organized crime conflicts, which might have escalated the fear and chaos among gangs and the public. This weapon's brutal efficiency surely added to the already tense atmosphere, but I do wonder how much it affected the strategies and operations of these groups going forward. My heart goes out to the families caught in the crossfire of these ruthless gang feuds. They must have lived in constant worry about their loved ones’ safety.
