Hey everyone, I've been following the case of the "Pacesetter" sinking, and something that's been on my mind a lot is how these guys were all experienced fishermen. Richard and the others were seasoned, right? It just seems strange that even with their level of expertise, they couldn't send out an SOS or locate a life raft. I wonder if something catastrophic happened that prevented them from taking any emergency measures? It just feels so off considering their background and years at sea. What do you think could have gone wrong that left them with no time or means to react?

Has anyone looked into the weather conditions on the day the "Pacesetter" went missing? I've been following this case closely, and I wonder if a sudden storm could've played a role. Maybe there’s some data on unexpected weather patterns around the time they disappeared? Sometimes, severe weather can sneak up on even the most experienced crews. I'm curious if anyone here has more insights or can point us toward resources where we might find this kind of info.

I recently came across the details about the Pacesetter incident and can't stop thinking about the technology involved in maritime tracking and how it could help in such situations. I know they use AIS (Automatic Identification System) for many vessels, but there's still much room for improvement, especially for smaller boats. Does anyone know if the Pacesetter was equipped with any tracking tech, or could this be why the search was delayed? It's frustrating that technology that could potentially save lives isn't more widely available or mandated. Would love to hear thoughts or insights on this.
