I’ve been thinking a lot about that phone conversation Betty Giuliani had with her friend just before the tragic events unfolded. It’s chilling to realize how ordinary that moment must have felt, talking about a bowling date, completely unaware of the horror that was about to ensue. My heart goes out to Betty and her family—none of them had any warning or chance to escape what was coming.
Does anyone else feel like it's these small, everyday details that make cases like this even more haunting? It’s a reminder of how quickly lives can change. I'm sure that friend who talked to Betty on the phone must carry an enormous weight, knowing they were probably one of the last connections to the outside world before everything changed forever. It’s just so devastating to think about the ripple effect of pain on everyone who knew them. Keeping Cindy Jo and her family in my thoughts today.
