I was going through the old case files of Lee Floyd Berry, and something really struck me about the neighborhood's reaction back then. From the accounts I've read, the local community seemed incredibly supportive of Doris Berry and her fight for justice, coming together to demand accountability and change. It's inspiring how people rallied around Lee's family during such a tragic time, providing both emotional and practical support amidst what must have been a tremendously difficult period. I’ve always believed that one of the most powerful things a community can do is to stand united in the face of injustice. It seems like, in this case, they did just that, despite the initially disappointing reversal of the court’s decision. Does anyone know if there were any long-term changes or reforms in the precinct or the city's policing practices as a result of this case? Or was it just another chapter in the ongoing struggle against police misconduct? I genuinely hope Lee's death wasn't in vain and led to meaningful change.

Has anyone here looked into the part where Officer Hall's report was supposedly contradicted by witness statements? I read somewhere that some neighbors claimed Lee Berry was already on the ground when he was shot, which contradicts Hall's account. It's such a tragic situation for the Berry family, and I feel really bad for them having to relive this during the legal battle. I can't even imagine how frustrating it must be when you think there's a chance for justice, only for the appellate court to reverse the decision. It's these inconsistencies that make people lose trust in law enforcement and the system. If anyone has more information on the witness statements, please share.
