I’ve been thinking a lot about the midnight basketball games Quintae used to play with his friends. From what I’ve read, he was always the one to stay later, cheering everyone on and insisting on "just one more game" before they all had to head home. His passion for basketball and his instinct to bring people together really resonates with me. It makes me wonder if the bonds he formed with the other kids will lead someone to come forward with any clue that could solve his case. I can’t imagine the frustration and pain of his friends and family having to relive this without any justice for Tae. I hope that one day, someone who knows something will feel ready to share what they know. Tae deserves that and so does his family.
I've been thinking a lot about the community's response to Tae's passing. It's clear just how much he meant to everyone who knew him, and it's really touching to see how people have come together over the years to honor his memory. Whether it's at memorial basketball tournaments or vigils at the New Friendship Baptist Church, the love and support around Tae's family is palpable.
It's heartbreaking that it's been so long without answers, but it’s also heartening to see the community’s resolve hasn’t wavered. I think it speaks volumes about Tae's character and the impact he made in his 12 short years. It's my hope that efforts to keep his story alive continue to shine a light on the necessity for justice, not just for Tae but for all unsolved cases like his in Saginaw. Hopefully, one day, this collective push will bring the breakthrough Tae’s family desperately needs.
