I recently came across the case of Thomas, who vanished back in '97 while kayaking from Prince Rupert to Ketchikan. One thing that piqued my curiosity is the weather conditions on that day. Anyone who’s familiar with that route knows how notoriously unpredictable the waters can get. Does anyone have information about the weather when Thomas went missing? Rough waters might explain why only bits of his kayak were found. It’s such a treacherous route, even for experienced kayakers. If anyone has insights or remembers the conditions during that winter, it’d be helpful to piece things together.

Hey everyone, I've been following Thomas's case and something's been on my mind. I recently read about how unpredictable the weather is between Prince Rupert and Ketchikan during February. Does anyone have insights on how often kayakers in that area face sudden, dangerous weather changes? I wonder if that could contribute to the disappearance rates in that region. It seems like even experienced kayakers might have a tough time if conditions turn nasty unexpectedly. Would love to hear thoughts or from locals who might know more about the challenges of kayaking there.
