I got to thinking about the psychological impact on both the families of victims and the officers involved in these situations. It's tragic that Timothy Mitchell lost his life, and I can't begin to imagine what his loved ones are going through. But I also wonder about Officer Schlabach—is there any support in place for him after a shooting like this? It's such a heavy burden to bear, even if deemed justified by the investigation. This case really underlines how important it is to have mental health resources readily available for everyone involved in these types of incidents. Police officers are put in incredibly tough situations, and anything we can do to support them and prevent future tragedies is worth discussing. My heart goes out to all affected by this.
