I've been thinking a lot about the role of community support in cases like Derrick Andrews'. It's clear that Derrick was deeply loved by his family and community, and I wonder how people are coping since his passing. In so many tragic cases, it seems the support network around victims' families can be both a source of strength and, unfortunately, sometimes additional stress due to public attention. I can't imagine how tough it must be for his parents and fiancée to navigate this painful journey while dealing with the uncertainties surrounding his case. It's heartbreaking that there still seems to be uncertainty about any leads or suspects in Derrick's case. My heart goes out to his kids, especially; I hope they have the support they need during such a challenging time. Does anyone know if the family set up any support networks or groups to channel this community energy into something positive or healing? Sometimes those can offer a really meaningful space for grieving and justice advocacy.
