I can't stop thinking about Orlando Thigpen's case and how it just seems to have been lost in the wave of violence back in 2015. It's so frustrating and saddening that his murder seems overshadowed by the statistics rather than being seen for the tragedy it truly is. This isn’t just a number on a chart; Orlando was a father, a brother, a friend to many. I read that community leaders were pushing for more resources from the Michigan State Police back then, but did anyone ever feel like those efforts made a difference? It must have been such a scary time for so many families, knowing their loved ones weren't safe, and I can’t even begin to imagine how Orlando’s family must feel knowing there's been little movement on his case. Here's hoping some justice and peace come soon for them. ?

I was reading up on the Orlando Thigpen case and can't shake off how grim the situation in Flint was back in 2015. It's like the community was under siege with all the violence breaking out. A thought that keeps lingering is about the systemic issues that were happening then—did the strained relationship between the community and law enforcement contribute to the lack of progress in solving cases like Orlando's? It feels like there were so many obstacles to justice during that time, and families like Orlando's deserve so much better. I can't imagine the frustration and pain his loved ones must go through, wishing that there would be some closure or answers. If anyone happens to know more about steps Flint has taken since then to bridge the gap or improve things, I'd be interested to hear.
