I came across this case today and it's been on my mind ever since. Keon Sterlan Rooks had his whole life ahead of him, and now to see all of that taken away in such a senseless act is incredibly distressing. From what I can gather, the tragedy occurred in a residential area—a place where people should feel safe. It's hard to understand what leads someone to commit such a violent act. I’m curious about the community’s response to this event and its aftermath. Has there been an increase in neighborhood watch efforts or community meetings in that area of Detroit since Keon's death? Sometimes these tragedies bring people together to keep an eye out for one another, but it's sad that it often takes something like this to initiate those conversations. My thoughts are with Keon's family and friends; no one should have to endure such a loss. If anyone has insights or thoughts about how the community has been handling this, I’d be interested to hear more.
