I’ve been following the case of George Assaf with great interest and deep sadness for his family and the community. As the owner of Stanley's Meat Market, George was obviously a big part of so many people’s daily lives. One angle that really stands out to me is the impact such a violent crime has on small communities. Flint, and especially the small business circle, must have felt the ripples from this terrible loss. It’s not just the immediate family who suffer; the friends, regular customers, and fellow business owners probably feel this absence every day. Reminds us all that places like Stanley's are more than just stores—they’re parts of our daily fabric where relationships are built and lives intersect. My thoughts are with everyone affected.
