I’ve been following the Kenneth Steil case and have been deeply moved by the brave life he led. What especially caught my attention was his lengthy career with the Detroit Police Department. Twenty years in such a demanding job shows his dedication and commitment to protecting the community. It's incredibly sad knowing his valued service ended during what started as just another day on the job. As a father, reading about his family left behind makes the loss even more profound. Those little boys lost a dad who put everything on the line daily. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. How they must feel is beyond words. A big salute to Captain Steil and every officer working to keep us safe.

I've been thinking a lot about the role of Marquise Cromer's past in all of this. It's so concerning to hear he had a violent history, like shooting his own father in the foot just a day before that tragic incident. It makes me wonder how someone with such a clear pattern of violence slipped through the cracks before something so awful happened to Sgt. Steil. It seems like there might have been opportunities to intervene sooner. I can't even begin to imagine the loss his family feels, especially knowing how dedicated he was not just as an officer, but as a husband and father. I hope there are support systems in place for them, both in dealing with their grief and navigating life without their loved one. If anyone knows more about how such cases are handled, I'd be interested in understanding what measures are in place to prevent future incidents.
