I’ve been thinking a lot about the kids that Brittany Southwell left behind. Tristin Jordan, Myah Marie, and Riley James Cole now have to grow up without their mother, and that just breaks my heart. How do you explain to children that their mom was taken from them in such a senseless way? I hope they’re getting all the love and support they need from family and friends, but it must be incredibly challenging for them. It’s moments like these when I wish we could come together as communities to support and help guide these young lives through such difficult times. No child should ever have to endure this, and it’s infuriating to think their mother was taken due to someone's reckless actions.
I recently came across this case and am still wrapping my head around the senselessness of it all. It's just unimaginable to think about those kids' lives being changed in an instant all because of someone else's reckless behavior. Brittany was holding her baby when everything unfolded, which shows how innocent she was in the whole ordeal. It breaks my heart to think about those kids growing up without their mom, and how terrifying that moment must have been for her and her child. While I'm relieved that Brittany's family saw justice served, it's hard to shake off the sadness of her life being cut short. Keeping them in my thoughts as they navigate through such a difficult loss.
