I can’t stop thinking about how young Daveonte Deshawn Small was. Just 19—barely an adult—and his life was senselessly taken away from him. Every time I drive past an Auto Zone, I wonder what really happened that day in Flint, knowing he was just in his vehicle when his life ended. It’s frustrating how we haven’t got any updates or clarity from the authorities about what led to this tragedy. It’s like another young person's life got lost in a sea of unsolved cases. My heart goes out to his family, who must be aching for justice, or at least answers. Does it feel like these cases are just slipping through the cracks, or is it just me? It feels wrong to have a life ended and then forgotten in the chaos. Is anyone else here familiar with what's been going on in Flint with these investigations? I feel like we owe it to his memory not to forget him.
