Hi everyone,
I’ve been reading about Amberly's case again, and I can't help but feel distressed by the lack of progress over the years. I mean, what sticks in my mind is hearing that crucial evidence has been found yet remains untouched due to administrative backlogs. It’s alarming when you consider how a simple delay in entering DNA into the system could possibly stall justice for decades.
I've heard they're catching up with technology now and using familial DNA tracing, which hopefully means we're closer to identifying the perpetrator. It's hard to imagine how frustrating it must be for Amberly’s family and those working tirelessly on the case. The thought that evidence could just be "sitting on someone’s desk" makes my stomach turn.
Does anyone here have insight into how often such delays actually happen? Are there more cases like Amberly's where justice has been delayed because of these procedural issues? It’s reassuring to know that organizations like Amberly’s Place are there to support families, but I really hope we get a breakthrough soon.
Thinking of Amberly and her family today. ?

I can't stop thinking about how crucial advancements in DNA technology could be to Amberly's case. It's so bittersweet to see how far we've come in 27 years and yet, here we are, waiting for that one match that could finally crack this case wide open. The fact that there might be crucial DNA evidence just sitting in a backlog is downright infuriating. How many other cases are suffering the same fate because of outdated systems and procedures? I have so much admiration for the detectives like Christian Segura and Lori Franklin who continue to fight past these hurdles. There has to be someone out there who knows something. This case isn't just about finding justice for Amberly, but also about preventing the person responsible from hurting anyone else. If you've been sitting on information, please, come forward. Amberly deserves justice, and her family deserves peace.
