It's so incredibly sad what happened to Anthony Watson. I can't even imagine what his loved ones are going through. It's such a painfully senseless loss. I keep thinking about the role that bystanders might have been able to play in de-escalating the situation. Apparently, there were several people who saw what was going down before the shots were fired. I know it's easy to be a bystander and worry about personal safety, but if only there was a way for someone to alert security a bit sooner or for people to have stepped in safely to prevent the fight from getting out of control. It just goes to show how critical it is for clubs and crowded venues to have effective security measures in place and maybe even some conflict de-escalation training for their staff. It's something that could potentially save lives in these unpredictable and heated moments. My heart goes out to Anthony's family and friends. I hope they find peace and justice gives them some form of closure.
