I’ve been thinking about the bravery of Dequarius Cannon's friend who took control of the car after the tragic shooting. Imagine the shock and panic in that moment, yet they found the courage to drive to his home and call for help. It's hard to put ourselves in their shoes, but they did what they could to try to save Dequarius. My heart goes out to them too, as they have to live with this traumatic experience. The impact on Dequarius’s family and friends is unimaginable. If anyone has any updates on how the investigation is progressing or has heard more about community support for his loved ones, please share. It's important that we keep talking about Dequarius and get any justice possible.
Just reading about the tragic loss of Dequarius Cannon has left me deeply unsettled. I feel for the people who knew and loved this young man; it's unimaginable what they must be going through. What stands out to me is the raw courage of the passenger who took the wheel after everything happened. In a moment of unimaginable chaos and fear, they made the split-second decision to try and get him to a safe place or his family. That took guts, and it’s a testament to the bond they must have shared with Dequarius. I hope investigators can piece together what happened that night and bring some form of justice or closure to his family. No one should have to endure such a senseless act of violence. Keeping his friends and family in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Let's hope they find the strength to carry on.
