Dequarius Cannon, a 17-year-old from Chicago, was fatally shot on the night of October 24, 2009, during an attempted robbery in the Washington Heights neighborhood. Cannon was sitting in the driver's seat of a car at the intersection of 105th and Peoria Streets when an individual approached the vehicle, demanding valuables.
