Hey everyone, I've been following the case of Amir Thaxton over on 8 Mile, and one thing I keep thinking about is the timing of it all. Amir was just trying to close up for the night, doing what he loved, making art come to life on T-shirts. It's awful to think that something so routine turned into such a tragedy. The fact that such a dedicated father lost his life in a place he worked so hard to build from the ground up makes it all the more painful. The community’s response was beautiful, though. Seeing everyone coming together with those red balloons during the vigil was incredibly moving. It's these acts of solidarity that remind us there’s still so much good in people, even when faced with such darkness. Amir’s kids will always be missing their dad, but maybe knowing how much love there was for him will offer them some comfort. Catching up on the other victims, it's clear how many lives were interwoven in this tragic series of events. The systemic failures in this case are baffling and have undoubtedly left families with open wounds. We all just want some answers and, most importantly, for this to never happen again. Keeping Amir and all the affected families in my thoughts. Stay safe, everyone. --- Edit: Thanks for sharing all your insights and information on this case. Let’s keep supporting each other and be a voice for justice.

Hey everyone, I’ve been following the Amir Thaxton case and can’t stop thinking about the impact on his kids. They lost their father in such a needless and violent way, and my heart just goes out to them. It's devastating to think about them growing up without him and the struggles they’ll face. Amir seemed like such a hardworking guy, doing his best to support his family, and his legacy now includes his children. I wonder how the community is stepping up to support them. Have there been any fundraisers or community events to help? I hope they have the support they need during this awful time. If anyone has any info on how we might be able to help, please share. Stay safe, everyone.
