I've always been curious about the role that Ronald DePeppo's car played in Wendy's disappearance. It's so strange to me that it caught fire just a few weeks after that night. Car fires are rare, right? I can't help but wonder if there was something in that car that could have given investigators a lead, or if it was just an unfortunate coincidence. Has anyone here come across any similar cases where a suspect’s vehicle was purposely destroyed? It feels like too big of a coincidence given all the other strange circumstances. Anyone in the local area remember if there were any reports or rumors about this at the time?

I've been following the Wendy Hudakoc case for a long time, and something that always stuck out to me is the timing around that phone call she got around 11:00 p.m. It seems like a key moment we don't really have answers for. Who was on the other end of that call? It wasn't Ronald DePeppo, as they had already met by then. Could it have been somebody else from the party inviting her over? Also, the fact that she only brought her stepdad's pager is puzzling. It's 1998, so I get that it's not unusual, but it seems like she trusted whoever called enough to leave without packing a few more things. Could this caller have been someone she felt safe with or maybe someone who downplayed the situation to her? If we could untangle that phone call, maybe it could shed some more light on the events of that night. Anyone have theories on this?
