It's absolutely devastating to think about Kira Seymour and her loved ones, especially her baby girl, Laylah. I recently read testimonies from Kira's friends about the abuse she suffered at the hands of Rayquan Taylor, and it just breaks my heart. What stands out to me is the courage Kira had in confiding in her friends despite the fear she must have been feeling. It’s chilling to think about the incident where Taylor allegedly pushed on her stomach. Situations like this really bring to light how crucial it is for communities to support individuals in abusive relationships and recognize the signs. I hope that Kira’s story inspires others to speak up and seek help. My thoughts are with her family and little Laylah, who will grow up without her mom but hopefully surrounded by the love and support of those around her.
