Hey everyone, I've been following Erion De'Shawn Parker's case pretty closely, and something that's been on my mind is the impact his death has had on the younger folks in Flint. Erion was just 21 and had already managed to inspire the people around him with his love for music and sports. It's really tough to think about the potential that his younger cousins, friends, and teammates saw in him, and what kind of role model he could have continued to be for them if things had turned out differently. It's clear from his love for rapping and drawing that he had a creative spirit, which I bet resonated with a lot of kids in the neighborhood. I think it's important to recognize how such a loss could affect these young people who looked up to him. I hope the community is finding ways to come together to support these kids, fostering their interests in the same way Erion did. It's crucial to create spaces where young people can express themselves and feel safe while doing so. Anyone here have any reports of community art or sports programs stepping up after this? It's such a tough situation, but I'm hoping to hear more about positive developments for the youth in Flint in the wake of such sadness. Sending strength to everyone impacted, especially Erion's family and friends.
