Has anyone else been thinking about Ricardo Alonso Ledezma’s case and the impact of the desert climate on missing persons investigations? I was researching the conditions out there in June and it’s pretty unforgiving. Daytime temperatures easily soar over 100°F, which can be extremely dangerous without proper hydration and shelter. Plus, nighttime brings a rapid drop in temperature, so it's like going from one extreme to another.
What really puzzles me is how these factors might affect evidence preservation. For instance, footprints or other trace evidence could degrade quickly in such a harsh environment. Does anyone know if search efforts have taken these environmental challenges into account? I'm curious how rescue teams adapt to these kinds of conditions and how it influences the overall strategy and search patterns. Insights anyone?
