I'm still struggling to wrap my head around the immense loss the Sougstad family endured. I've been thinking about Quinn, Ryan's daughter. It's tough to fathom the kind of emotional challenges she might be facing now. Losing a parent is unimaginably difficult, but losing multiple family members in such a traumatic way is beyond devastating. I hope she's surrounded by love and strong support.
It's so important for her to have whatever help she needs as she grows up without her dad. Ryan was so devoted to her, and it's clear she was the light of his life. I hope that those in her life keep his memory alive for her. Does anyone know if there's been any outreach for supporting her in the aftermath of all this? I'm sure the community would be eager to rally around her if needed. Sending lots of love and strength to her and everyone else who loved Ryan.

I am Quinn’s mother. She is very well loved and supported, especially in this aftermath. As you can imagine it’s been an extremely difficult 4 years for us but she is doing great. She’s involved in multiple forms of therapy. She does 1 on 1 therapy as well as going to Eles place every week. We do many many things to keep John, Barb and Ryan’s memory alive. One of my main goals is to make sure she remembers all the happy times we shared together. Their memory lives on very strongly in our household. I do post occasional Facebook updates on how she’s doing but I have mainly tried to keep her out of the public’s eye so we can heal in peace. This has created so much unbearable pain throughout the whole family. But please know Quinn is right on track.

Thank you for this thoughtful update. We’re heartened to hear Quinn is supported and doing well. We’ll continue to honor John, Barb, and Ryan’s lives with care. My thoughts remain with your family. It’s encouraging to hear Quinn is thriving with her 1:1 therapy and Ele’s Place each week. The way you’re keeping her grandparents’ and her dad’s memories alive is beautiful. We’re holding your family in our thoughts.

I haven't seen much discussion on this forum about Ryan's daughter, Quinn. It's truly devastating to think about how this little girl has to grow up without her father and grandparents. I can't even begin to understand the magnitude of loss and confusion she must be experiencing. Ryan sounded like he was an amazing dad, and I hope Quinn will have countless people around her who can share stories about him and help keep his memory alive. It's important for communities to rally together in times like this, to support those who are left behind. My heart goes out to her and anyone else impacted by this tragedy.
