Does anyone remember the early reports about the unexplained noises in the Sougstad neighborhood the night before the tragedy? I’ve been thinking about how sometimes little details in cases like these can end up holding clues that aren't always immediately obvious. I remember reading that quite a few neighbors reported hearing what they described as "loud bangs" in the nights leading up to the incident. The sheriff's office had looked into it but didn’t publicly link anything at the time. It makes me wonder if there may have been any prior attempts or rehearsals by the killer or if someone else could have been involved, potentially sending a warning or threat beforehand. As someone who followed this case from the beginning, I feel for the Sougstad family and the community who must be feeling a mixture of grief and bewilderment. It’s hard to imagine what really happened that night or why the investigation shifted course years later. Sending strength to all those affected.
