The 1500 block of Bailey Street now has 24 homicides tied to its tragic record for 2021, which is incredibly alarming. It’s heartbreaking to see this happen in a community where Elton, a man who was so actively involved in uplifting others through church and sports, had to face such a tragic fate.
The fact that no arrests have been made is deeply unsettling. It makes you wonder what kind of changes are needed in that area to ensure safety and prevent more lives from being lost. Does anyone from Lansing feel like there's been an increase in crime in this part of the city? What more can the community do to come together and support police efforts?
