I recently came across the tragic story of little Caleb Harris, and my heart goes out to his family, especially his siblings. I can’t begin to imagine the pain of losing such a young, vibrant child in such a horrifying manner. It's deeply troubling to think about the fear that Caleb must have felt during those final moments, and it breaks my heart just writing this.
One aspect that really struck me was the sheer number of shots fired: 22 in total. It’s a terrifying reminder of how deadly violence can infiltrate our communities and the extent of the trauma it leaves behind. The fact that a 16-year-old like Malcolm Ray Hardy could be involved in something so violent raises so many questions about how we address youth crime and the influence of drugs and weapons in these environments.
This case just reinforces how critical it is for us as a society to find ways to protect our children and prevent these senseless acts of violence. My thoughts and prayers are with Caleb’s family and all those affected as they continue to navigate life without him. How can we bring about change to ensure children like Caleb are safe and these tragedies don’t keep repeating?

Keeping Caleb's memory alive in hopes it drives change and protects other children from such brutal circumstances.
