I’ve been following the case of Tonya Marie Woody and my heart just goes out to her family, especially her children. I can’t imagine the pain they're going through, especially now that her kids have to grow up without their mom. It's hard not to think about the ripple effects of domestic violence and how it changes lives forever. During sentencing, the victim impact statements must’ve been incredibly tough for Tonya’s family. Imagine having to stand in front of the court and pour out your soul for everyone to hear. It’s brave, but also so deeply sad. I hope that Diamond and her siblings can find some form of healing in the midst of this tragedy. This case just reinforces how crucial it is for us to support those in need and raise our voices against domestic violence. Even though Eric Smith's sentencing might have brought some sense of justice, it doesn’t erase the loss. We need to keep the conversation going so that no one else has to suffer the same fate as Tonya.
