Just came across this case about John who went missing on his climbing expedition at Devil's Thumb. It's hard to grasp how someone could disappear so completely in such a rugged area. I've read a few climbing forums, and it seems that Devil's Thumb is notoriously challenging, even for experienced climbers. Anyone familiar with this mountain? Would love to hear thoughts from those who have climbed in the area about the potential hazards. It must be incredibly difficult for search and rescue teams to navigate such terrain. Sending thoughts to his family and hoping they find peace somehow.
