I've been following the case of Alex Madrano, and it's truly difficult to wrap my head around the senselessness of it all. I came across an interview with one of Alex’s close friends, and it was so moving to hear about what a bright spirit Alex had. Apparently, Alex had this incredible sense of humor and was the kind of friend who would drop everything to help someone in need. It breaks my heart to think about how his life was cut so short and how his future was stolen. The thing that stands out to me is how much pain and fear this kind of violence brings into a community. It’s not just the families of the victims who are affected, but neighbors and friends, too. It's clear that Alex was loved and cherished by those who knew him. I truly hope that justice is served in this case and that those responsible are held accountable for their actions. More importantly, I hope that communities can come together to prevent these tragedies in the future. It feels like there’s always more we can do to look out for one another and try to prevent such senseless loss. Thoughts and prayers go out to Alex’s family and the young teen still recovering.
