I just keep thinking about how close Ryan was to celebrating his 15th birthday, and it's just so unbelievably painful to think about the milestones he'll never get to experience. Having something like a balloon release as a tribute was definitely a beautiful gesture, but it's hard to shake off the deep sadness knowing that an entire community is rallying for justice without answers. It must be incredibly difficult for his family, especially around the holiday season, when everyone else is celebrating—and Ryan's family is left with this unimaginable void. It really makes you reflect on the pervasive issue of gun violence in our communities and the urgency for change. I truly hope someone steps forward with information soon, and we can start to see some justice for Ryan and his loved ones.
