I’m thinking about the impact of losing someone like LaCordne Greene and the devastation it must have brought to his loved ones and the community at large. It’s important to remember that beyond the headlines and court cases, there are families left to piece together their lives after such a loss. I can’t even begin to imagine how hard that must be. I hope that with Sorrell’s sentencing, Greene’s family feels a bit more secure as they try to navigate life without him. From everything I've read, Greene was someone who had a future full of potential, and it's incredibly saddening that his life was cut short in such a senseless act. I've been revisiting the LaCordne Greene case and wanted to discuss something that hasn't been talked about much – the impact on the local community where the crime took place. Arbor Park Apartments and the surrounding areas in Jackson seemed especially shaken by what happened. I can't imagine the fear and sadness that gripped the residents during and after this tragedy.
