Has anyone been following the legal proceedings in the Carlos Yancey case? I’ve been thinking a lot about how the charges against Jerry Evans were changed from murder to manslaughter. Does anyone know what specific factors might have led to that decision by the court? It makes me wonder how often charges get adjusted based on new evidence or testimonies. My heart goes out to Carlos's family who must be going through such a difficult time. Hopefully, the ongoing discussions about safety can shift some real change in Hattiesburg.
