Has anyone else been following the Big Valley sinking story? Gary, one of the crew members, is still missing. I just can't wrap my head around how dangerous the Bering Sea is and how quickly things can go wrong out there. The conditions are so harsh and unforgiving. Does anyone know more about the safety protocols they had on that vessel? I’m wondering if there were any chances for survival or if the odds were just stacked against them given the location and weather. It's just such a scary situation for those involved and their families.

I was digging through some old maritime records and came across the Big Valley incident. Does anyone know if they ever found out why Gary didn't make it to the lifeboats? I know the Bering Sea is treacherous, but it feels odd that someone with his experience wouldn't have made it. Maybe there were mechanical failures we haven’t heard about, or could it have been the rough weather that day adding too much chaos? Anyone with insights on what it was like out there or if there's more info on the incident would really help piece things together for those of us following this case.
