I’ve been following the discussion about Scotty Settlemires, and I can’t get over how senseless this tragedy is. It seems like just yesterday he was out fishing, probably with his family, bringing so much warmth and happiness to those around him. I didn’t know him personally, but from everything I've read, he was one of those people who truly brought his community together. Something that stands out is the courage of the folks in Corinth who have come together to support Scotty’s family. Losing someone so pivotal in such an awful way must be unimaginable. I can only hope that the community's compassion and support lend some comfort to Linda, Tyler, Kelly, and everyone else who held him dear. Has there been any update about how his family is doing or if they’re planning any memorial events beyond the funeral? It’d be nice to find ways for people who didn’t know Scotty personally to show their support and solidarity.
