Has anyone else wondered about the home security situation at the time of Lottie's disappearance? I’ve been thinking – an alarm system notified Lottie's daughter that the door was opened, but how quickly was that system checked or responded to? It seems crucial to understanding how she managed to leave unnoticed. If the alert was missed or not acted on quickly, it feels like something that could’ve changed the outcome. I’m not blaming the daughter, just wondering about the awareness and setups of alarm systems back in 2006. Anyone familiar with how effective those systems would have been, especially with someone who has Alzheimer's? It would be interesting to know if similar cases had this type of system and the role it played.
I came across some old notes from back when Lottie Albertha Wise went missing and something that sticks out to me is the alarm system. It's so odd to think how quickly someone can disappear even with systems like that in place. I wonder if the alarm system was functioning properly, given that Lottie's daughter was alerted but wasn't able to find her. It makes me think about how reliable these systems really are, especially when it comes to someone with Alzheimer's who might not respond to alarms or calls. Maybe a more intensive system or a different type of alert could have made a difference? It’s haunting to think of her just slipping away like that. Thoughts from anyone with experience in similar situations or with family members with Alzheimer's? I imagine it’s an added layer of stress trying to keep your loved ones safe.
Does anyone know if there were any nearby security cameras in the neighborhood around Venus Drive? It's unusual that nobody spotted Lottie, especially since it sounds like she left the house on foot. With the time being 9:25 p.m., there might have been at least a few people around who could have seen her. Also, if the neighborhood is residential, would there be a chance any of the neighbors had CCTV or doorbell cameras that might have caught a glimpse of her or given any clues? I just find it so strange that there aren’t any leads from nearby streets. It feels like there could be more to this that hasn't been uncovered yet. If anyone has information or remembers hearing something back in 2006, even something small could potentially help the case. Keep sharing thoughts—it might spark new ideas or avenues to explore!
