Was anyone else weirded out by the fact that Scott was even out there in the first place? I mean, I’m from the area and Volcano Bay can be pretty sketchy, especially with the kind of weather we’ve had lately. Those waters are unpredictable. I can't help but wonder if there was something off about the ship itself. Anyone know if the Northern Dawn had any history of mechanical issues or anything? Losing communication like that seems odd to me. Just trying to piece things together... ?

Has anyone here looked into the weather conditions on the day the Northern Dawn sank? I came across a mention of unusually rough seas around Volcano Bay around that time. It makes me wonder if the official reports took this into account or if the crew might've been caught off guard by a sudden change in weather. I've also heard that this area is prone to unexpected squalls. Could this have contributed to Scott's disappearance? Anyone with local knowledge or experience in that region who can shed some light on this?
