Hey everyone, Just saw a post pop up about Matthew and Ricky Nebert, the two brothers lost when their fishing boat, Slayer, went down near Point Gardner. It got me thinking about how quickly the ocean can change from being this calming presence to something incredibly dangerous. My uncle was a fisherman, and he always said that even the most experienced sailors could be caught off guard by sudden weather shifts. It's hard to imagine what it must have been like out there for them. If anyone has insight into the typical weather conditions around Point Gardner this time of year or similar incidents in the area, it might help us understand what they were facing. Also, any info on the search efforts? I’ve heard mixed reports and wondered if more resources might help in these situations, or if there are simply some areas too remote or challenging to navigate. Hoping and praying they are somehow safe and we get some answers soon. Stay safe, everyone.
