Has anyone else noticed how often repeat offenders manage to get out and commit more crimes? It's incredibly frustrating and absolutely terrifying. In Megan Staats' case, it’s devastating to think that an early release program led to this tragedy. Her life was cut short by someone who was already a known threat. What really breaks my heart is thinking about the “what-ifs.” What if he hadn't been released early? Maybe Megan would still be alive today. It feels like such a preventable loss. My thoughts are with her family and friends. They’re left grappling with not only the loss but also the anger at a system that failed them. I hope this opens up more conversation around parole reforms to prevent future tragedies. Would love to hear what others think about this aspect of the case.
