Hey everyone, I was just reading through the details of the 2007 case involving Clinton Abarca, Chad Rawls, and the others who went missing. Something that strikes me is the timeline between when they left Igiugig and when the first person was rescued. That's nearly two full days! It makes me wonder about the conditions out there on the water during that timeframe. Were there any reports of bad weather or currents known to make that route particularly risky? I'm curious if anyone knows more about that aspect. Even minor details could help paint a clearer picture. Thanks!

Hello I was just looking up my brother Clinton Abarca and I came across this page. I looked up the weather and it said it was mostly cloudy temperatures and mild temperatures and calm winds. I have been thinking about him since the day we got the phone call about his boat going down. His poor friend Lance that survived the boat accident was floating for a couple of days and was in the hospital for a while. But he passed because of the trauma he went through those few days he was alone. Thank you for everything you are doing.

I was reading up on the 2007 case of the missing men from Igiugig and something struck me about the timing of their departure. Setting off on such a trip around midnight seems unusual, especially in Alaska where conditions can be unpredictable. I understand that locals might be more accustomed to navigating these waters at odd hours, but wasn't there any concern about the risks? It makes me wonder if they were on some sort of schedule that couldn't be changed, or if perhaps they felt confident because it was a route they knew well. It's a haunting detail, considering what later happened. Does anyone with local knowledge have insights on why they might have chosen to leave so late?
