Has anyone else been pondering the influence of privilege on this tragic case? It’s truly infuriating to think about how Brandon Theesfeld apparently felt he could do whatever he wanted, including boast about his father's wealth and allegedly act in such an abhorrent way. It’s just heart-wrenching to think about the pain Ally’s loved ones are enduring while this person was so callously indifferent to her life. Society seems to keep giving people like Theesfeld the idea that they’re untouchable, and in cases like this, the results are beyond devastating. I hope other young women and men see this and realize the importance of recognizing red flags in relationships. Ally deserved so much better, and it makes me wonder how we can prevent such tragic outcomes in the future. Thoughts, anyone? How do we address these power dynamics effectively, especially in campus settings?
