Has anyone heard more about the AR-15 used in the Greenwood shooting? I’ve been following this case and can't wrap my mind around why someone would target a post-funeral gathering like this. It's gut-wrenching to think about what their family is going through. Jonathan and Katrina were just there to say goodbye to their grandmother; how does it end up in such tragedy for them and others?
I know police found shell casings at the scene, which might help them trace the weapon, but why is it taking so long? I completely understand the complexities of these investigations, especially when the perpetrator flees so quickly, but every day that goes by without an arrest must be so hard on the family.
I can only wish for some kind of breakthrough soon and hope that everyone with information finds the courage to step forward. This cycle of violence needs to end. Sending support to their loved ones from afar. Please, if you hear anything new, share it.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the Greenwood shooting and can’t shake how deeply painful it must be for the Pitts family to have lost Jonathan and Katrina in such a senseless way. I’m from a neighboring town and attending family gatherings myself always feels like entering a safe space—it’s unimaginable that something so horrific could happen during such a vulnerable moment, right after a grandmother’s funeral. It's just devastating.
I feel like the community really needs to rally together now, not just for the family, but to push for more answers and accountability. It’s concerning that, despite multiple witnesses, the person responsible got away so easily. It makes me wonder if there’s more we as a community can do to support ongoing investigations or increase the pressure for leads. How can we ensure this doesn’t get swept under the rug while compassionately supporting the families affected?
To everyone reading, if there's anything we can do to help bring justice and peace to Jonathan, Katrina, and their family, please let’s discuss it here. Our thoughts should be with them, but we should also turn those thoughts into actions.
Hi everyone,
I’ve been following the case of Jonathan and Katrina Pitts, and my heart goes out to their family and everyone affected by this tragedy. Something that struck me about this case is how it underscores the critical need for community cooperation in solving crimes like this one. The police are really depending on tips from those who may have seen something or know something.
I’ve got to wonder, was the gathering so big that people didn’t notice who the shooter was? Or was there fear of retaliation keeping people silent? If anyone local to Greenwood has insight about this or thoughts on the difficulties in getting witnesses to come forward, it’d be helpful to understand more.
This is such a painful reminder of how gun violence can shatter lives in an instant. The Pitts family and everyone else hurt in this shooting deserve answers and justice. Let’s hope the community can come together to help bring some closure.
Stay safe, everyone.
