I've been thinking about Cornell Henderson's case a lot, especially the role the environment plays in such tragedies. Knowing the area around Marquette Park and its history with gang activity, it’s terrifying how young lives are caught in the crossfire. What really hits me is the way kids like Cornell, with so much potential and vibrant spirits, are growing up in neighborhoods where gunshots are more common than opportunities. I can't fathom the pain his family must be going through, losing such a bright soul. It really underscores the need for more community-based programs to support our youth and steer them away from paths leading to violence. We’ve lost too many like Cornell already, and it feels like it’s past time for change. Anyone have thoughts on community-led initiatives that could help kids from these neighborhoods feel safer and more hopeful about their futures? Let's share some ideas and maybe bring more awareness to those fighting for safer streets.
