Cornell Henderson, a 15-year-old from Chicago, was fatally shot on October 17, 2010, in the Marquette Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side. The incident occurred around 8:25 p.m. when Cornell was shot twice in the back while he was near the 2500 block of West 68th Street. Despite being rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, he was pronounced dead later that evening.
