Hey everyone, I’ve been reading through the details of Keonte Barney’s case, and my thoughts keep coming back to the impact on his family and friends. It's hard to fathom what they must have gone through, especially considering the violence that West Garfield Park was dealing with at the time. I can’t imagine the pain of waking up one day to the news that a loved one has become part of such a grim statistic. What really stands out to me is how these incidents affect not just the immediate families but the whole community. I can only hope that Keonte's family found some support and comfort from their community, even in such a time of despair. It’s clear that Chicago, and especially areas like West Garfield Park, needed serious interventions to address the issues they were facing back then. It’s just devastating to think of how many lives have been touched by the cycle of violence and how crucial it is for these neighborhoods to receive the resources they desperately need. Sending thoughts and strength to everyone affected by similar tragedies. What are your thoughts on how the community could have come together back then to support each other and push for change? Take care.
