I can't stop thinking about the security—or lack thereof—at Club Rain on that awful night. How did Jeremy Jones manage to get past the guards with a handgun? It really makes you question how such oversights can occur and what can be done to prevent them in the future. In a place where people go to enjoy themselves and feel safe, this tragedy just doesn't make sense. It's chilling to think that lives could have been spared with tighter security measures.
Alicia Brown, Deanne Bell, and Elijah Bridges had so much ahead of them, and my heart goes out to their families and friends navigating this immense loss. The Jackson community must feel devastated and anxious about what’s being done to prevent a repeat of this horror. We need answers, transparency, and most importantly, change. I hope as the investigation continues, we see some progress not only in terms of justice for the victims but also in how future incidents can be avoided.
