Has anyone else been following Chauncey “Cam” Carter’s case? I was thinking about how many memories friends and family must have of him, especially from his time as a star football player. It's clear he was loved and admired, both on and off the field. I wasn't from his circle, but hearing about how he led his team to a championship back in 2015 really shows the kind of dedication and talent he had. It’s devastating to see such a bright future cut short. The drive-by shooting on East Hill Drive is just one of many violent incidents we're hearing about in Waynesboro lately. It makes me so anxious to think this can happen in our community. I know the police are asking for anyone with information to step up, and I really hope someone who knows something will find the courage to speak. If we want justice for Cam and prevent this from happening again, we should embrace the chance to work with the police. Their promise to protect informants is crucial, and it’s something the community really needs to trust. Sending love to everyone who knew Cam and Teira – they deserved so much more.
